Arabian Nights Themed Party for New Year’s Eve 2015

It was that time again! Every year myself and my partner Dave who is a full time DJ organise a New Years Eve event at our local Parish Hall, we hire the venue and provide a buffet supper and disco but it’s very challenging to come up with a new theme for each year!

This year I decided to attempt an Arabian Nights themed party and to drape the ceiling with organza, never having done this before it was a little daunting but hey – I’ll try anything once! I used the wonderful curved and crescent balloons in gold, red, blue and purple to give the night that ‘eastern’ feel and added an ‘Aladdin’s Lamp’ made from these balloons. With the addition of some ‘Arabian Skyline’ backdrops on the walls and tables decorated with black table covers, shimmering blue and purple foil and some gorgeous gold organza table runners, all finished off with blue, red and purple star confetti, I think I managed to create the effect I was looking for.

Every year I have always been disappointed with the chairs at this particular venue, so new for 2016 we have invested in black chair covers which are available for hire from a ridiculously low price of £1.00 per chair (DIY), plus a refundable deposit on each cover hired.

I was really pleased with the result, but have a look at my pictures and judge for yourself.

I wish everybody a very happy and prosperous 2016!
